GUM DISEASE

Healthy teeth and gums not only give you a beautiful smile, but also indicate good oral health that play a very important role in your life. Normal healthy gums are pink in color, aren’t sore and do not bleed when brushing. The gums should be tight around your teeth with no separation.

Symptoms of gum disease include:

·                    Bad breath

·                    Red or swollen gums

·                    Tender or bleeding gums

·                    Painful chewing

·                    Loose teeth

·                    Sensitive teeth and gums

·                    Receding gums or longer appearing teeth

It is important to be aware of any of this symptoms and any of these symptoms may be a sign of a serious problem, which shold be checked by periodontolog.Exposed tooth roots are the result of gum recession. Gum graft surgery will repair the defect and help to prevent additional recession and bone loss. 

There are many simple ways to keep the health of gums and teeth:

·                    Brush your teeth twice a day.

·                    Floss regularly to remove plaque from between teeth. Or use a device such as a special brush or wooden or plastic pick recommended by a dental professional.

·                    Visit the dentist routinely for a check-up and professional cleaning.

·                    Don’t smoke.
